Owners of every source of road transportation such as cars, buses, trucks, and motorcycles must register with the CMRIS. Registration is N5,000 annually to get a Motor Vehicle Information Certificate.

The CMRIS portal gives the Nigerian Police seamless and accurate information about vehicles in Nigeria, their ownership, and other vital details that would help them with the investigation and recovery of stolen vehicles.

Drivers can get their Motor Vehicle Information Certificate online within 20 minutes via the NPF CMRIS website.

The following information are necessary to create a profile:

  • National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Chassis number
  • Engine number
  • Vehicle color
  • Year of manufacture, make, and model of the vehicle

The Motor Vehicle Information Certificate is sent to the email address on the CMRIS profile for drivers to print it.
